In this advanced Drawing and Painting elective, students engage in projects that are more complex and individualized. Learning about a range of artists, students are more informed on their art making process in relation to the history of art. With New York City at our doorstep students expand their artistic knowledge and visit museum exhibitions. Projects that are inspired by museum visits stimulate thought and creativity in different ways. Students have researched artists and presented their finding to the class. Art projects include more challenging still life set-ups, design based problem solving, printmaking, figure studies, narrative art, painting and color theory. Media includes colored pencils, charcoal, pencil, linocut, acrylic and watercolor.
